Inclusive Excellence Awards

The Inclusive Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate the efforts of individuals, departments and groups who display exceptional leadership in fostering diversity and inclusion both on campus and in the surrounding Gainesville community. These awards reflect the Center for Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement’s mission of celebrating and empowering diverse communities and being advocates for an inclusive campus for all students across identities. This year, the Center for Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement will award the following: Community Award, Student Organization Award, Outstanding Inclusive Excellence Initiative Award and the Dr. J. Michael Rollo Diversity Impact Award for Faculty/Staff, and Students.

Recipients of these awards should actively display and affirm CIME’s values of fostering community, multicultural education, intercultural engagement, inclusive leadership development, and advocacy.

This award recognizes a community member or community organization who exemplifies the values of diversity and inclusion. They actively contribute to and support the larger Gainesville community and/or multiple communities across campus.

This award recognizes a student organization or group who exemplify the values of diversity and inclusive excellence by implementing or sponsoring an event or initiative which cultivated diversity and inclusion within the current or previous academic year and demonstrates a sustained commitment to the advancement of inclusion excellence in diversity within the UF community.

This award recognizes a unique, ongoing initiative a department or college has developed to cultivate diversity and inclusion. They also demonstrated a sustained commitment to the advancement of inclusive excellence within the UF community.

The Dr. J. Michael Rollo Diversity Impact Award recognizes inspiring students, faculty, and staff who demonstrate leadership by committing to actively create a more diverse and inclusive campus community. Recipients of this award actively promote education, respect, community and inclusion.
